The musical rain drops on the roof
The lullaby that it sings
The Sky's daylong grief
That Ends with a night of songs
The persistent rain drops
Now delivered in staccato
With the belligerent wind blocks
Pushing the base of the lean-to
The day has come but the sky is moody
Weary from the tears it shed through the night
The eyes are cloudy and the drops are heavy
Not ready to stop it blocks out the light
All through the day it stops and starts
Leaving no room for a sight of the sun
All one can see are people with hats
No umbrellas, the wind is strong
Then the sun peeps through the cloud
And disappears in a haste
One could say she is running from the rains
Just as she was gone was the cloud on the ground
Day in and out the cycle continues
The locals are depressed and the tourists alike
Can't wait to fly to where sunshine is voluminous
I will put on my gear and run round on bike.
Unpredictable yes unpredictable
The rain and cold are the trademarks of Belfast
As the nightlife in town is something unforgettable
Think of the girls when they come to have a blast
The temperature is freezing yet they have bare back and legs
Give it up to them, though their menfolk are same
All they care about is how much alcohol is in the keg
These guys can drink and drink there way to fame.
